Great steak, great appetizers, great prices. Friendly and fast service. I'll be here again soon. Everything was cooked just right and the meat (on both the ribs and steak) were so unbelievably tender, it was almost unimaginable.

Hadn't been to this J&R's location but have always found their food to be top notch. My prime rib was cooked perfectly. Had an excellent seafood bisque, a few ice cold Hofbrau's, and finished with a tasty brownie sundae.

I frequent this outstanding restaurant many times as I like the special air that is characterizes this restaurant. The crew is extremely loving and experienced. The service is very quick. Most important, the food they cook is exceptionaly good. I frequent often and I was never disappointed. The cost is reasobable. I highly recommend this place to to everybody.

Excellent food. I always go for the prime rib and cheesecake. Delish! The waitstaff are always pleasant. Highly recommend!

Ordered take out cowboy ribeye and was mediocre, fries were pretty cold. Prime rib was very tasty and so was the broccoli. Would still order again.

I took my mom for her birthday the food was good the pina coladas needs more alcohol we didn't taste it and the bread could of been hot other than that the food was good our waitress was very pleasant and attentive and was there whenever we needed something . I will return

J&R's in Medford is a little on the small side, but the staff, food and the service make it worth while. I believe I saw 2 dollar signs ($$) in the initial rating in Google Maps, I'd give it 3 ($$$). Our dinner for 2 with a free appetizer, 2 beers and 2 dinner specials was $95 after tax and tip.Still, my Wife and I enjoy going here very much. We've never been disappointed with the food and the overall experience.The only reasons it didn't get a 5th star was it feels like others are so close that it limits private conversation and the prices. Please keep in mind that it was a busy Valentines Day dinner. We don't go very often, but when we do, we're very satisfied.

Pleasant restaurant. I've been to their Calverton location many times. I had heard mixed opinions about the Medford one, but we had a good meal for a good price. I'd definitely go back.

Food was good but the other customers where being very loud and obnoxious. Normally I wouldn't complain about that but the manager was joining in with there conversation and being just as loud.

Great place to go. Always great menu choices and deals too, even when you weren't looking for any. Always nice staff.

J and R steak house has been my favorite for as long as I can remember. The food is great. The service is good and the prices are very reasonable. I had the special...a 12oz. NY sirloin with a lobster tail... potato and soup...all for $22.95. The steak wad cooked perfectly and the lobster tail was not dry. You also get bread and macaroni salad and pickles. My wife had the coconut shrimp, pesto and salad...all great for $18. My son had the porterhouse steak... about 24 ounces... cooked to perfection with potato and salad all for $27. How can you go wrong? It's a great place to eat alone, with that special someone or with family. Try it... you won't be disappointed.

J&r steakhouse used to be the best restaurant overall imo for many miles. They used to have a Stonybrook location as well which was my favorite. They got rid of the best happy hour on Long island and raised bar prices. Since then j&r has fallen flat. Great steaks, great steak sauce too... used to be a very popular bar not just for older people like it is now.

They have an awesome specials menu for $14.99 which are huge and delicious. The diner is very nice and easy to get to. Check it out

Great food. Their lobster bisque is my favorite this far. Definitely better than red lobster. Staff was great. And social distancing was most definitely enforced. I am constantly surrounded by people with underlying conditions as well as people with disabilities - therefore social distancing is a must have for me. I loved their service and attentiveness. Ive been going here for a while and i havent been dissapointed yet!!:)

It was definitely under staffed in the bar area. Bartender was taking care of the entire bar area alone which gave slow service at the bar. She tried to make it right with offering a desert to us which was very nice. But, to fix the issue they truly need more bar help. It was very noisy in there. Loud happy hour folks who didn't know how to use their inside voices. Happy hour was good, and appetizers were a good price. We had the ribs and they were very good. All in all I can't say it was terrible just slow and loud.

The food was as good as I expected it to be. The wait staff was friendly and quick. The restaurant was clean, HOWEVER the owner/Manager walked around with a terrible, unwelcoming disposition. Giving many of the patrons that day dirty looks. My husband and I will NOT be returning to that particular establishment again.

I love this place. As usual the service was great. The food, however, sucked today. The bread was stale and my diet "cola" was flat times 3. The meat had to be scraped off the rib bones, usually falls right off and my medium rare prime rib was medium well at best. I still love this place but was not happy today.

Might have been the best rib eye I have ever had in a restaurant. Great staff, friendly, drinks , apps and steak came out on time and warm. Great experience

My wife and I decided to go to J&R's steak house for a Valentine's day dinner, and we couldn't be happier. Firstly, the place is clean, well lit and decorated and very easy to get to. The staff was attentive and knew their place well. Service was fast. Then there is the food. The place is a steak house, so we ordered the prime rib. Cooked to perfection and it melted in your mouth. The fried calamari, lobster bisque and ceasar salad were just as good. The portions were great. The owner made sure to greet everyone in the bar, and even reached out to let us know we left my wife's gloves behind. We will definitely be regulars there from now on

At first I ordered the Prime Rib Rare, it came out well done. Sent it back, replaced it with the Skirt Steak, which was very good. Great value, main course with sides, salad or soup and desert.

Always delicious. I have never been disappointed. Staff is always friendly. I always eat too much here because it's so good ☺️

Last night we went to the Rocky Point location with 13 people to celebrate our son's 24th birthday! Everything turned out wonderful due to the extraordinary efforts of our waitress Denise! She was super friendly, professional and excellent in every way! If you go, definitely ask for Denise, as she stands out above the rest!!

Just an average meal. Steak tidbits on my steak was overcooked and the Greek salad was drenched in dressing. Decent sized salad but nothing special.

This restaurant is unquestionably one of the most attractive place to eat in the area. Every time I go there I am deeply glad. They preserve their very high level service and the highest level of food they offer. You will be always satisfied with this place. Warmly recommended.

Dined there today. Arrived 3 mins late for lunch lunch special.Ordered pork chops. They were much smaller than I’ve received on previous visits. They no longer have senior or early bird specials.Pork Chops were slightly overcooked. Service was good. Disappointed with the changes. I’ll have to think about going back.

This J&R's is ok. I like sitting in the bar area here. The food is always very good as well. I just can't help comparing it to the one in Calverton. The ambiance there is nicer, more authentic. Because of that it seems the dinning experience is nicer there. Both these locations serve delicious food.

Went there a week ago, very disappointed. Appetizer tasted as if they were a frozen food. Had the Filet Mignon, horrible cut and taste was bland. Had better steaks cooking them myself from Stop N Shop. Service was good. I gotta say as far as food and dining out Route 112 is not where u want to go.

Fair prices, great service, tasty steaks. Too bad the Stonybrook one closed down since that was closer, but the Medford location isn't too far. Will definitely be back here

Great food, quick service. Our waiter Jared was awesome. Bussing staff was fast but not pushy. Prime rib was cooked perfectly and the shrimp I had were seasoned with just the right amount of garlic.

Love the Medford, NY location. Always has great service. Larry waited on us last night and he was excellent. He was friendly and efficient, he's definitely an asset to the great staff that work there.
